Patrick Vieira shares that he will watch Arsenal vs Manchester United on Sunday and he thinks both teams can win the Premier League title this season, as he told his own press conference.
Manchester United dropped points on Wednesday night when they conceded a late goal to record a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace and, as a result, failed to close the gap between themselves and leaders, Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s men are eight points clear of both Manchester clubs, but ahead of their weekend showdown, Erik ten Hag’s men had the chance to put pressure on their old rivals, but they failed to do so, all thanks to a very late Michael Olise free-kick.
The last time Arsenal won the title, Vieira was bossing proceedings in the middle of the park, well, even though he is long retired, he still can’t stop providing his old team with a helping hand.
The former Premier League title winner has a rich history in English football and he has had many great moments against Manchester United.
Even though Vieira has to focus on Palace’s game against Newcastle United at the weekend, he was asked about the main event between Arsenal and Man United.
“I have enough on my plate thinking about Newcastle,” said Vieira. “It will be a good game of football. I think two teams who pretend of playing Champions League football or winning the title.
“I think both teams can win the league because of the quality of players that they have.
“So, I will be like you. I will be watching the game.”
CAN ARSENAL END THE TALK?
Even though many Manchester United fans will be gutted at those dropped points at Selhurst Park, many will still back themselves to get a result at the Emirates and keep their title talk alive.
But this is Arsenal’s chance to well and truly boot Man United out of the door.
If they win on Sunday, then the gap between the two will be 12 points, and unless Mikel Arteta is related to Kevin Keegan, then that lead won’t be overturned.
