Once Ronaldo’s teammate, he now plays with Messi
While they may now be teammates, Sergio Ramos once came up against Lionel Messi on countless occasions and knows exactly how tough a task that is.
The central defender did battle across the Clasico divide for over a decade before both players swapped Spain for France.
“I’ve suffered with Messi for many years,” he told PSG TV.
“Now I enjoy him. He is the best player that football has ever produced.”
Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo will be disappointed with Ramos’ pick
After Ramos‘ arrival at Paris Saint-Germain, everything changed, because he became Messi‘s new teammate.
After suffering him in every game they played against each other, Ramos can now enjoy how the Argentine destroys their opponents on the pitch.
It’s a comment that will undoubtedly have caused discomfort to Kylian Mbappe, because, despite being a close friend of the Spanish footballer, Ramos hasn’t compared the Frenchman with the recent world champion in Qatar.
It might also anger Cristiano Ronaldo, who was for years a teammate of Ramos at Real Madrid.
Nagelsmann doesn’t believe Mbappe’s injury: I don’t think he’ll miss Bayern-PSG
Doubtful for the first leg
On Wednesday, alarm bells began ringing in the Paris Saint-Germain camp after Kylian Mbappe‘s injury in the Ligue 1 match against Montpellier.
Initial scans on the French striker indicated that he would be sidelined for three weeks, meaning he would miss the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich.
“Following examinations, Kylian Mbappe has suffered an injury to his left thigh at the level of the biceps femoris. He is expected to be unavailable for three weeks,” read a PSG medical statement.
However it seems that the coach of their Champions League opponents, Julian Nagelsmann does not believe this information and at a press conference admitted that he does not think he will miss the game.
“I don’t know what he has, but I expect him to play. They are being very unclear on their website saying ‘up to three weeks’, if he doesn’t have a structural injury I don’t think he will miss the game,” he said.
“I’ll prepare for the game by expecting him playing. It’s too far off to say the player won’t be on the field, if he doesn’t have a serious injury.
“They could be playing with it by not mentioning if it’s structural,” said the German coach.
