In addition to Turkey, Syria was also hit by the ᴅᴇᴀᴅʟʏ earthquakes that occurred yesterday. The rescue crews were there from the first moment in the earthquake-stricken areas and are fighting a superhuman battle to free citizens from the debris.
A team of rescuers was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ to find a newborn baby girl alive, still connected by the ᴜᴍʙɪʟɪᴄᴀʟ ᴄᴏʀᴅ to her ᴅᴇᴀᴅ mother. It appears that the woman gave birth in captivity, however, neither she nor the rest of her family managed to survive.
In the video, a man holds the dust-covered newborn with the ᴜᴍʙɪʟɪᴄᴀʟ ᴄᴏʀᴅ hanging. The rescuers immediately covered him with a blanket and took the baby to the nearest hospital, where he is being treated.

The little girl, who arrived at the clinic in a bad condition, is still undergoing ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ but is now stable, pediatrician Hani Maarouf told AFP.
“She had a lot of bruises and lacerations all over her body,” he said. “She also arrived with ʜʏᴘᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴍɪᴀ because of the harsh cold. We had to warm her up and administer calcium.”
Her survival is the latest in a string of stories of children being pulled from the rubble. The ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ toll from the earthquake, which ravaged Syria and neighboring Turkey, soared above 5,000 by Tuesday and is only expected to rise further.
Rescuers continued to trawl through rubble in freezing temperatures in search of survivors after the quake cut a swath of destruction that stretched hundreds of miles through the two countries.
