Saudi Arabia want to bolster their local league with star veterans to improve their chances in the bid to host the 2030 World Cup. Sergio Busquets is one of the players they seem to be targeting.
According to Mundo Deportivo’s reliable Fernando Polo, Al Nassr — who’ve recently signed Cristiano Ronaldo — have also approached the Barcelona captain. They are offering the midfielder a two-year deal worth €18m per season free of tax.
However, Busquets is currently waiting for Barca to present their offer. After talking to Xavi, the 34-year-old has decided to hear our the club before considering his other options.
One thing is certain, Blaugrana will not be able to compete with Al Nassr financially and may even be forced to offer the captain a pay cut. Sergio’s deal expires at the end of the season, and if he continues at Camp Nou, it won’t be for financial reasons.
