Selena Gomez stepped out in style as she grabbed lunch with Interscope Records CEO, John Janick, at celebrity hotspot Nobu in Malibu, California on Sunday.
After dining, the Only Murders in the Building actress, 30, and Janick could be seen engaging in a friendly chat as they walked back to their car.
Selena Gomez has been signed with Interscope Records since 2014, which is also the year Janick assumed the role of the music label’s CEO.
For their outing, the Rare Beauty founder sported a cropped white sweat, a long light-wash denim skirt, nude heels, gold drop earrings and a pair of black shades
The Same Old Love singer, who wore her long brown locks in loose waves, held onto a camel coat and takeout bag with her leftovers.
Janick cut a casual figure in a black t-shirt, coordinating baseball cap, light grey shorts, sneakers and Nike socks.
Gomez and Janick have fostered a close bond over the years as the former Disney Channel star has continued to experiment with her music.
In December 2020, Gomez – as well as fellow singer Billie Eilish and rapper DaBaby – joined Janick to pose for the cover of Billboard magazine.
Though Sunday’s lunch outing was simply business-related, Gomez recently gave a rare glimpse of her dating life during a new episode of her HBO cooking show, Selena + Chef.
While in the kitchen working with guest chef DeVonn Francis, she admitted that the series has been getting her attention from possible partners.
‘One time a cute guy texted me because he saw the show. And then he never took me on a date,’ she revealed. ‘I was like, “Was that a good thing or a bad thing?”‘
Francis, 29, speculated that the ‘cute guy’ never followed through because he was ‘intimidated’ by the Ice Cream singer.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star, replied with, ‘I receive that, thank you.’
As the pair made roasted snapper for the entrée and banana cake for dessert, the host seemed proud of her cutting skills and quipped, ‘Oh, am I getting a little cocky?’ followed by a quick ‘[Any] baby daddies out there?’
Her mentor for the episode offered some dating advice to go along with the delicious recipes telling the versatile artist to find a partner who will ‘meet you where you are.’
The De Una Vez singer has stated in the past that she would like to be a wife and mother someday.
On a recent episode of the TATATU series Giving Back Generation she told friends Raquelle Stevens and Amy Cook, ‘I want a husband and I want that kind of touch.’
She continued, explaining, ‘I think my love language would have to be physical touch and acts of service. The older I’ve gotten the more I really appreciate that.’
‘I went and hung out with someone who was a bit older and it was just so wonderful. It was like being taken care of in a way. Being like, “Are you comfortable? Do you need a blanket?” Just very sweet things.’
‘And I was like, “I’m fine, I don’t need anything.” But it was just so kind and I don’t feel like a lot of people are like that anymore.’
The star was recently linked to Giving Back Generation producer Andrea Iervolino, after both were spotted on the same luxury yacht while vacationing in Italy, but US Weekly reports speaking to a source who asserts the two are only friends, but did share that the Selfish Love singer ‘is dating and is keeping her options open with a few guys.’
