Chris Hemsworth confirms early press for Thor: Love and Thunder starts today as the wait for the highly-anticipated trailer continues.
Chris Hemsworth announces the start of early Thor: Love and Thunder press as fans continue to wait for the first trailer. The God of Thunder’s popularity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe greatly increased in recent years after Thor: Ragnarok. Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi reinvented Thor for his third solo film, and the more comedic approach was a huge hit. It didn’t take long for Marvel Studios to bring them back together for Thor 4, which was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie returning and Natalie Portman coming back as Jane Foster, who will become Mighty Thor.
Production on Thor: Love and Thunder wrapped in 2021 ahead of the film’s final July 2022 release date. There is plenty of excitement about what the new movie will hold, as Portman’s Mighty Thor and Christian Bale playing the villainous Gorr the God Butcher are among the most anticipated elements. With the Guardians of the Galaxy also set to make an appearance, fans have been anxiously waiting for Marvel Studios to drop the first Thor 4 trailer. The anticipated trailer is still not out despite the movie’s release date being less than 100 days away.
As fans around the world continue to wait for the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, Hemsworth has confirmed the start of some early press for the movie. The actor shared an image on Instagram of him, Waititi, and Thompson in a white studio for long lead press. It is unconfirmed what the trio is doing for the early press obligations, but Hemsworth teases that the early press obligations will be a lot of fun with Waititi and Thompson alongside him.
Seeing Chris Hemsworth, Taika Waititi, and Tessa Thomspon together for press is likely only going to amplify the calls for Marvel to release the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. The studio has made a habit of having the stars of different properties reacting to seeing the trailer for the first time, as a Spider-Man: No Way Home video showed Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon watching a trailer, and Moon Knight brought Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke together to react to a trailer. It is possible that part of Hemsworth, Waititi, and Thompson’s duties for the day includes watching the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer.
Even though the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer is not yet out, the start of the promotional tour for its main stars and director is the best sign yet that it is coming. It might not be too long now before Marvel Studios either confirms the trailer release date or debuts the footage online. Since Moon Knight is now out and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ marketing is entering the final stretch, it makes sense for Marvel to begin putting some attention on Thor: Love and Thunder through this early press and eventual trailer release.
