The actor, who received a Golden Globe for his epic performance of the singer, revealed he still gets star struck and was stoked to recently meet Hollywood legend Tom Cruise at an Oscar’s event.
The pair crossed paths at the annual Oscar Luncheon, where hundreds of big names were gathered ahead of the awards ceremony.
“I get to sit next to Ed Berger and Alfonso Cuarón, who are two of my favourite directors. Got to meet Tom Cruise for the first time. That’s very surreal. I just think of all the times that I’ve watched his performances and it’s really surreal when you’re finally in the presence of somebody that you’ve watched for so many years, you know,” explained an awestruck Butler.
The Californian is becoming one of the most sought-after actors in the business. He is due to star is war drama miniseries Masters of the Air and has also landed the role of Feyd-Rautha in the second installment of the science fiction epic Dune.
