Following Avengers: Endgame‘s setup for Sam Wilson to become Captain America, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave Mackie the first opportunity to suit up in the red, white, and blue suit. He is returning to the role in Captain America: New World Order, which will be the first solo movie in the franchise not to star Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. However, Sam was hand-selected by Steve to carry on the mantle because of how likeminded they are – but the similarities between Captain Americas will go further.
As part of a new interview with Happy Sad Confused, Anthony Mackie has promised that Captain America: New World Order will continue to shine a spotlight on Captain America’s ass, as the star teased how great his butt looks in the new costume spandex.
The hilarious tease by Anthony Mackie came after several questions about Captain America 4‘s story, which the star said he does not know much about. This led him to begin talking about something as non-spoilery as his derrière, playing on the jokes that became more popular after Avengers: Endgame about how great Chris Evans’ Captain America’s ass was. But it seems Steve’s butt is nothing compared to what Sam’s will be.

New World Order Can Continue MCU’s Captain America Ass Obsession
There has been an obsession with Steve Rogers’ behind in the MCU ever since The Avengers, as audiences began thirsting over Captain America’s butt thanks to a new costume. It started a trend of memes, gifs, and jokes about his backside that would surface after Chris Evans’ various Marvel appearances. This culminated with Avengers: Endgame making two jokes about Steve having “America’s ass” during the team’s first mission together.
Instead of letting the jokes and memes die off with Steve Rogers’ MCU exit, Captain America: New World Order is now positioned to continue the obsession. If Anthony Mackie has his way, this could even include directly focusing sequences around Captain America’s ass and the “delicious” look that he is going for. Even if that does not happen, it is clear that Mackie understands how much attention Steve Rogers’ butt got and wants to make sure Sam’s rear end looks just as good – if not better – in his Captain America 4 costume.
Captain America: New World Order was always in a good spot to keep the Captain America ass love alive after Avengers: Endgame proved that it was joke material. With Chris Evans not expected to return, the movie could slip in several more references about Steve’s butt, drawing comparisons between it and Sam’s.
