Manchester United may have beaten Barcelona at Old Trafford last night, but at what cost?
Less than 72 hours before they’ll face Newcastle United at Wembley, Erik ten Hag’s men came from 1-0 down to beat the La Liga leaders to win 2-1, sending them through to the last 16 of the Europa League.
However, a few hours after the big win, star man Marcus Rashford posted a picture on his Instagram story of him walking off the pitch along with an injured emoji (see below), while fan footage shows him limping away from the stadium.
The in-form forward went down midway through the second half after a last-ditch challenge from Ronald Araujo and was later taken off by ten Hag. It seemed, at the time, that he’d shaken off the knock, but his post on social media has left Man Utd fans wondering if he’s picked up an injury just two days before the Carabao Cup final.
With 13 goals in 15 games in 2023, he would be a massive miss for the Red Devils. Time will tell if this is mind games from the forward or a sign he’s facing a race against time to be fit for Sunday:
