Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Jorginho and Leandro Trossard on the club’s official website for their performances against Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.
The Gunners got the better of Leicester 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Gabriel Martinelli scored the only goal of the match in the opening minute of the second half.
Belgium international winger Trossard provided the assist.
Italy international midfielder Jorginho also started the match for Arsenal.
And Arteta was impressed with both Jorginho and Trossard.
MIKEL ARTETA ON ARSENAL DUO JORGINHO AND LEANDRO TROSSARD
Arteta said about Jorginho and Trossard: “Two players already that have experience in the league, that really fitted our way of playing, really intelligent both of them to understand what is required in many situations that we demand them to execute certain things and they have the personality to come here and play the way they played is what is required at this level.”
In our view, both Jorginho and Leandro Trossard have already established themselves as important players for Arsenal.
Jorginho has become a key figure in the middle of the park in the absence of Thomas Partey.
As for Trossard, the winger has made an impact off the bench and is also able to play as a false 9.
Trossard cost Arsenal £20 million (Sky Sports) in fees when they signed him from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.
Jorginho moves to the Gunners from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in January for £12 million (Sky Sports).
The £32 million duo could play a big role for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months, as the Gunners aim to win the Premier League title this season.
