When Kevin Durant was finally traded from the Nets earlier this season, it was no surprise to anybody that he ended up in Phoenix to play with Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton.
But now that he’s officially repping his new team, what can we hope to expect from them this season? If you ask ESPN analyst (and former NBA point guard) Jalen Rose, he’ll tell you that it’s only a matter of time before Durant takes the Suns to the promised land.

Most long-time basketball fans will tell you that it takes time for a new team to get comfortable together and find its peak. And while the Suns have looked really good since Durant joined the lineup, they are far from a perfect squad.
But even if they don’t get it done this year, the Suns still have time to capture a title before it’s all said and done. Despite turning 35 in September, KD doesn’t look on track to slow down anytime soon and he should elevate the Suns as championship favorites as long as he continues to be one of the best players in the game.
Can Suns Win A Title With Kevin Durant?
Over 14 seasons in the NBA, Durant has built quite a career for himself. As a 13x All-Star, 10x All-NBA player, 4x scoring champion, and 2x Finals MVP, KD is undoubtedly one of the best players/scorers in NBA history.
Sadly, his career will not just be remembered for what he was able to do on the court. When people think of KD, they will also think about his failed tenure in Brooklyn and how he allowed the situation to get completely out of control.
Now, Durant is all out of excuses on a Suns team that just made the Finals a few seasons ago. If he fails to deliver on bringing at least one title to the city, he’ll have to bear that weight as well — and it will draw a lot of questions about his capabilities as a leader.
For now, all we can do is watch and wait to see how it plays out for the new-look Suns. Whether it’s this season or the next, people expect a championship from this group and KD is the one who has to take them there.
