Yes, the Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson was all set to make his entry into the DC universe as Lobo, unfortunately, but the film never came to fruition, today Lobo is speculated to soon take the lead in DCU. In the comics due to his many conflicts with heroes like Superman, Lobo is one of the most ridiculous and deadly anti-heroes. The comic is set in a zombie apocalypse caused by the Anti-Life equation is wreaking havoc on one of the numerous parallel worlds in DC’s Multiverse. Everyone who encountered the equation or is bitten by an infected person becomes infected right away but retains all of their abilities.
They are substantially more deadly than typical zombies as they are powerful and brain-dead. It turns out that Lobo is immune to Anti-Life, which prevents him from becoming one of the Anti-Living. Some aliens have hired Lobo to defend the universe as a result of this. This might make him the best choice for a prominent or leading character in DCU, it will also set the DCU apart from its previous versions. Lobo might be the main villain or hero in the DCU for the upcoming chapters.
Dwayne Johnson backed out of Lobo to star in another DC film
Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam
It was reported that Dwayne Johnson was cast as the leading man in the Lobo, which Joel Silver would produce. Johnson and Brad Peyton, who was signed to develop Lobo, did reunite; but their second collaboration resulted in San Andreas. The DC universe had no sign of the Czarnian.
Johnson was in negotiations to play the cult beloved antihero in a high-budget Warner Bros. Blockbuster film slated to be directed by Guy Ritchie back in the summer of 2012. The Rock ultimately decided against Lobo in favor of joining the original Shazam! cast, where he would oppose the main character as none other than Black Adam.

Brad Peyton discussed the issue of lesser-known characters in the DC Universe receiving screen time over the weekend at the San Andreas junket, which he shared on ComingSoon,
“I think what’s happening with DC is that they have prioritized what they need to make first to kind of lay the foundations for the DC Universe. This is what I believe is happening just from what they’ve been talking about. They’re talking about Justice League, Batman v Superman, and going into Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. Those are kind of the pillars of that universe.”
He continued,
“It’s one of those things where, creatively, you and I get it, but there’s a lot of people that don’t quite get that. It’s a real uphill battle to talk people into spending a lot of money to do things correctly…With Marvel, they’re now doing smaller characters like Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. They obviously had to start, though, with their big guns and set up The Avengers. I kind of feel like that’s where DC is now. They’re setting that team up.
Lobo
The Canadian director explained the issue he had been facing to get Lobo on the floor. He clarified that it is hard getting people on board for characters that start small and need more building. currently, DC is creating and curating its team so that the big picture envisioned by Gunn and Safran can be painted on the silver screen.
