Ja Morant announced the launch of his first signature shoe with a heartwarming video on Sunday, as he enlisted the help of his daughter Kaari to unveil the new sneaker.
In the clip, Morant is sitting on a wooden bench as Kaari comes over and hands him a wrapped shoebox.
‘Got daddy a gift?’ he asks.

With Kaari’s help, Morant opens the box to reveal a light blue, pink and yellow colorway of his very own Nike shoe, the Ja1.
‘It’s what I always wanted. Thank you,’ the superstar guard says to his daughter.
Sharing a promotional image of the shoe to his Twitter, Morant said,’ I didn’t get here by myself.
‘This is for Dalzell, Murray, Memphis and everybody who believed in 12 from Day One.’
While the guard will debut the shoes in Memphis’ Christmas game vs. the Warriors, according to ESPN, they reportedly won’t be available via retail until spring and summer 2023.

The shoe, which features the star’s ‘Ja’ logo on the tongue and has a mesh and leather upper, is expected to be priced at $110.
‘Just being able to have a signature shoe with Nike, not a lot of guys have been able to achieve that,’ Morant told ESPN.
‘It’s definitely a big milestone for me and something that I’ll never forget.’
The 23-year-old is averaging 26.5 points per game this season and has led Memphis to a 20-11 record ahead of their first-ever Christmas game.
