After coming in second in “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2022, Tom Ball suddenly became the coolest teacher in his entire high school in West Sussex, England.
The 24-year-old singer is excited to get a second chance at international stardom on “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” and this time he came prepared to wow the judges with a stirring rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence.”
Tom may seem like just a humble school teacher, but his delivery of the beloved song was masterful. He hit every note with perfect pitch, and the audience and judges loved it! When he’d finished, Simon Cowell had high praise for Tom, including a very apt comparison.

“You’re like Susan Boyle’s grandson because what you do is not what we expect,” Simon explained. “For me, this is the best performance I’ve seen all series.”
Host Terry Crews agreed, rushing to the judge’s table so all four of them could hit the magical Golden Buzzer together, sending Tom on to the next level of the competition.
