To those who cannot speak for themselves, finding a voice is like catching a star — especially when that voice can be heard clear across the world.
Lady Gaga has long been using her voice to amplify the importance of mental health and well-being. In addition to partnering with Jack.org on a mental health initiative for youth, this multi-talented performer continues to connect with fans and shine a light on “invisible illness.”
In fact, one special fan was even serenaded by Lady Gaga in front of a packed house!
At just 12 years old, Owen joined his idol onstage in Pittsburgh for a live version of “Million Reasons” during the Joanne World Tour.
According to Owen’s mother, Jennifer Collins, Owen is considered nonverbal, though that in no way belies his clear intelligence. He has been diagnosed with multiple rare conditions, resulting in a wide variety of symptoms: “seizures, clumsiness, delay in developmental milestones, and sensitivity to sensory cues.” Given his many challenges, it’s little wonder that Owen seeks refuge in the empowering music of Lady Gaga.
“As his mom, I have learned that Owen uses Lady Gaga’s music as his voice or outlet.” Jennifer shared.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his love for the superstar.
“Owen has been one of Lady Gaga’s little monsters since he was 4 years old…” said Jennifer. Case in point, Owen always wants his mother to wear her makeup like Lady Gaga and repeatedly signs out her biography from the school library. Talk about “unwavering” devotion!
We can only imagine how much Owen enjoyed his moment in the spotlight with Lady Gaga. And truthfully, who could be more deserving than her number one fan?
Watch Owen meet his idol in the video below, and remember to share with little Lady Gaga fans everywhere.
