The Kardashian-Jenners gathered for another extravagant party – and this time it was Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner’s looks that caused the most controversy.
On Saturday, most of the clan gathered to celebrate Mason Disick’s bar mitzvah, a Jewish coming-of-age tradition that takes place at the age of 13. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick were on and off from 2006 to 2015 and share two other children: 10-year-old Penelope and eight-year-old Reign.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, E! news reports that Kourtney and Scott hosted the event at the Offsunset Lounge in West Hollywood. In addition to Mason’s proud parents and siblings, attendees included Kylie Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and North West. There were probably others too…
Kylie Jenner wore a form-fitting latex dress and boots with her hair up in a messy ponytail. Although some Reddit users criticized Kylie and the rest of her sisters for dressing inappropriately for a teenage birthday party, style reports that Kylie came straight from DJ Zack Bia’s Christmas party at Catch Steak LA. And even if not, what’s so wrong with an ankle-length dress?

In keeping with the seemingly all-black theme — you can see pictures of Kourtney and Scott’s looks here — Khloé arrived in a fitted black catsuit. “Mazel Tov Mason!!! The girls and I tried to take some photos,” she captioned an Instagram post with nieces Penelope and North.

For her part, Kim sported a cropped concert baby tee and leather pants, while Kendall opted for an ultra-feminine black silk dress with a lace bodice. “I’m kind of bored with Kendall usually, but she’s the only one she’s been wearing something appropriate to,” commented one Reddit user. “Kim’s crop top with leather pants would be cute at a rodeo, not a 13-year-old bar mitzvah.”
As someone who had a bat mitzvah [redacted] years, I still don’t see the problem. (My theme was Broadway, in case you’re wondering.)

However, a new addition to the Kardashian-Jenner family may have missed the fun. Some fans noted that Travis Barker didn’t show up, possibly due to his strained relationship with Scott Disick. Although there has been a ton of drama between Kourtney and Scott since the reality star started dating her now-husband, Kris Jenner has vehemently denied the latter was “excommunicated” from the family.
“Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family,” commented Kris A Paper magazine Instagram post suggesting he was left behind in favor of Travis. “He is the father of my grandchildren and a special part of our family…we love him and don’t we! ??”
Despite family squabbles, it was clear that Kourtney and Scott could put aside any differences to celebrate their son. To repeat Khloé, Mazel Tov, Mason!
