The thought of spending $40,000 on a piece of used gum might really burst your bubble.
But not just any old slab of Bubblicious — it’s straight from the mouth of the illustrious Robert Downey Jr.
An eBay user claims to have gotten ahold of Downey’s used gum when the Marvel star appeared at Jon Favreau’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony last month.
The eBay listing sets the starting bid for the gum at $40,147.47. However, the price can go even higher if a bidding war develops over it.
The auction will end on Friday, April 1.
The chewed-up chunk of gunk will be sent to the lucky bidder in a plastic container — and no, they can’t return it.
In the product description, the eBay seller penned: “Hello! I happened to be in the area during the event which had famous actor and producer Jon Favreau being added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

“During the event, Robert Downey Jr, himself put his gum on the Star and presumably left it there, which I was able to snag. I’m selling it in the same condition I got it in and it can be tested for his DNA,” they added.
Downey, 57, honored his “Iron Man” director at the event and jokingly slapped his gum down on the star on the sidewalk.

Earlier this month it was announced that the prankster may have his next project in the works, with Downey being eyed to star in a remake of “Vertigo,” Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 psychological thriller.
He is producing the flick alongside his wife, Susan Downey, via their Team Downey production company.
“Peaky Blinders” showrunner Steven Knight will be penning the script.
Downey will also be appearing in the upcoming HBO TV series “The Sympathizer.”

Downey looked unrecognizable when he was spotted on set in January, rocking a bald cap prosthetic and a fuzzy red wig. He also appeared slimmer. The project is based on author Viet Thanh Nguyen’s 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name.
The show takes place during the final days of the Vietnam War in 1975 and will tell the story of a French Vietnamese spy known as the Captain (Hoa Xuande), who lives in Los Angeles.
