Selena Gomez may have buttered up Zayn Malik’s personal assistant before the singers’ alleged date.
The multihyphenate was seen exiting Nobu in New York City with Taryn Zimmerman on March 21.
The two women walked side by side as they made their way out of the swanky Japanese restaurant.
For the outing, Gomez, 30, sported a light gray denim jacket atop dark gray slacks and a matching top, which she paired with black platform boots and a chunky infinity scarf.
Her dark locks were pulled away from her face, showing off her sultry makeup.
Zimmerman, for her part, opted for a cream-colored trench coat, light gray jeans, a black top and French pigtail braids.
Just two days after the ladies broke bread, the “Only Murders in the Building” star was allegedly seen packing on the PDA with the former One Direction member, also 30.
The friend of a hostess at an unnamed celebrity hotspot in Soho claimed in a viral TikTok video that the stars walked into the establishment “hand in hand” on March 23 and were openly “making out.”
The pal, Klarissa Garcia, told Page Six the following day that Gomez and Malik arrived at peak dinnertime and allegedly continued kissing at their table, which she said was situated in the middle of the bustling eatery.
Garcia added that the duo dined for about two hours before heading out.
Romance rumors began swirling when eagle-eyed social media users noticed that the “Pillowtalk” crooner recently became one of the “Same Old Love” songstress’ 405 million Instagram followers. He notably follows only 18 people.
But we’re told their potential new fling comes as no surprise to those who know them — because the two have hooked up in the past.
“They had a thing years ago, when Taylor [Swift] and Harry [Styles] were dating [in 2012],” a top music industry source spilled earlier this week, referring to Gomez’s best friend and Malik’s former bandmate.
“It doesn’t surprise me at all that they’re potentially together [today].”
Reps for the stars have not responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Malik last dated model Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares 2-year-old daughter Khai.
Meanwhile, Gomez was spotted locking lips with Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers in January, but her most famous relationship was with Justin Bieber.
She also dated The Weeknd, who romanced Gigi’s sister, Bella Hadid, for years.
