The fate of Jumanji 4 has been unclear for the last year, but Kevin Hart has given a hopeful update for fans of the franchise.
It seemed almost certain at one point that Dwayne Johnson and co would be heading back to the jungle for another Jumani adventure, but then a few things happened, such as the Covid pandemic and Johnson’s attempt to becoming a central pillar of the DCU as Black Adam. With both of those things now in the past, does that mean Jumanji 4 is a go? According to Johnson’s co-star Kevin Hart it may well be.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a huge hit in 2017, reviving the classic Robin Williams movie of the 90s and giving it a big CGI update for new audiences. This led to the sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019, and at the time it seemed that another movie was inevitable. However, thanks to the onset of the Covid pandemic and Dwayne Johnson’s schedule becoming very busy thanks to other projects he got his eye on, the project had gone from a sure thing to a maybe if it happens.
Kevin Hart was asked about Jumanji 4 on the Oscars red carpet by Variety, and gave what seems to be a very encouraging update for fans of the adventure franchise. He said: “We’re going to have to do it soon. I talked to [Dwayne Johnson] the day before yesterday. Right now, we got the ball rolling on some big ideas.”
