Thomas Tuchel is not Chelsea manager anymore – in fact he’s now Bayern Munich coach – but the fact that the man appointed to replace him has now himself been dumped after just 7 months means that the German has been asked about his feelings on the matter.
In a cold way Tuchel, who has openly admitted that he felt hard done by in his sacking, denied that he felt too much emotion about the matter at all.
But his words reveal how traumatic his own firing was, so he must feel plenty of pity for his colleague. He says he needed time to process his dismissal, but pointedly noted that so much has “changed” at Chelsea that he doesn’t necessarily feel as connected as he might otherwise.
Clearly what he means is that the new ownership can go stuff themselves, while he remains connected to the fans and players who supported him while he was there.
