Selena Gomez has splashed out on a new three-bedroom, 3,188sqft home in LA’s Studio City for a bargain – for the area, at least – $2.25 million.
Gomez, who has a net worth of $50 million, snapped up the traditionally designed, 1951 home, which has attractive vaulted ceilings, walk-in wardrobes, and an office-cum-music room for whipping up new songs.
Hidden from the prying eyes of fans by tall hedges, the secluded mansion is a step down for the Texas-born ex-Disney star compared to her her previous California residences, which sold for $3.5 million and $3.3 million, Yahoo! News reported.
Home again: This is the brand-new Los Angeles home that Selena Gomez has purchased for $2.2m – a step down from her previous Cali pads, which have sold for $3.5 million and $3.3 million
The spacious home was built in 1953 but has been completely refurbished. Vaulted ceilings and an open-plan design make the most of the 3,188 square foot property
The massive fridge has enough space to hoard food on hot LA days (or to hide inside if it gets really hot). Gomez had previous properties in Tarzana, California, and Calabasas, LA
The home is based in Studio City, named after a studio lot built there in 1927. That studio is now called the CBS Studio Center
This corner of the kitchen has a brighter, sunnier feel, with pastel walls and clean white cabinets
The rear of the house features a sizable swimming pool – again, perfect for house parties – along with canopies and parasols to hide from the LA glare
Yesterday it emerged that Gomez’s boyfriend, The Weeknd, has splashed out $18 million on a pad in Hidden Hills, around 30 minutes’ drive from Studio City.
Her purchase of the Studio City home comes after she sold her own Hidden Hills mansion for $3.3 million in 2015 – unfortunately for Gomez, she paid $4.5 million for it six months earlier.
And in 2014 she sold a home in Tarzana – the first she ever owned – to Iggy Azalea and then-partner Nick Young for $3.45 million. She made a tasty profit there, having picked it up for $2.2 million.
Gomez is currently also selling another property, a 10,000sqft space in Fort Worth, Texas, for $3 million.
There’s plenty of place to sit and relax in the spacious home – such as in front of this beautiful brick fireplace (right)
There’s even room for a music area, for when new songs need to be drummed up – literally
A built-in barbecue area (on the right) means that visitors don’t have to stray far to keep their bellies full
The master bedroom suite has a two spacious walk-in closets, as well as two normal-sized closets
Guests can stay in one of the two other bedrooms, which get plenty of light from the large windows
This guest bedroom has a rather unusually designed bed, as well as more traditionally appointed decor
This gorgeous dining room has a quirky chandelier as well as easy access to the rear garden, and rustic furniture
The gorgeous window will let in plenty of natural light to help Selena wake up every day
Any guests that Selena has over need not worry about telescopic cameras thanks to this hedge – while the angle of the house means there will be plenty of sun
