He may have been on a strict diet for a role in Ron Howard’s new film, Heart Of The Sea.

But Chris Hemsworth couldn’t resist indulging in his favourite food – pizza – on a lunch date with his heavily pregnant actress wife Elsa Petaky at a restaurant in Malibu, California, on Thursday.

In November the Thor hunk told Jimmy Kimmel his biggest indulgence is the fast food, and when he eats it, he’ll consume not just one slice, but more like 10.

The Spanish beauty is expecting twins in the spring and was rocking boho chic in a cute mini-dress with a dark pink and white flower-inspired pattern with a matching over-shirt that showed off her huge baby bump.

The 37-year-old paired the look with tan knee-high boots.

Her short, blonde bob was clipped back with a flower as she walked next to her hunky hubby.

At 6ft 3ins, Chris, 30, towered over the petite Fast & Furious actress. The Australian was casually dressed in a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and white sneakers.

Missing from the trip was the couple’s 18-month-old daughter, India Rose.

Chris gained 20 pounds of muscle to play superhero Thor in Marvel’s film franchise.

But he told Jimmy Kimmel Live! in November that he had been on a crash diet for Heart Of The Sea, the true events that inspired Herman Melville to write Moby Dick.

‘A bunch of sailors get struck by a whale, the ship sinks and they jump onto small rafts and drift for 90 days. And basically they begin to die and eat each other … a romantic comedy,’ he joked, continuing, ‘And we have to get rather skinny. So we’re on 500 or 600 calories a day.’

Then he admitted that he had cheated and had some pizza, ‘Like 10 slices.’

Meanwhile, Chris won’t have too much downtime to spend with his baby twins when they arrive. The heartthrob has a busy working year ahead.

Aside from Heart Of The Sea, he will be in South Africa to film The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The first Avengers flick grossed over $1.5billion worldwide, and Chris as Thor, God of Thunder, is one of the central characters in the franchise.

He will also appear in Cyber, directed by Michael Mann, and Snow White And The Huntsman 2 alongside Kristen Stewart.

Elsa is, understandably, on an acting hiatus having last starred in the 2013 drama The Wine Of Summer alongside Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden.
