On Instagram, striker Marcus Rashford talks about his goals as a boy and his hopes for the future.
On April 10, Rashford posted a photo taken when he was 11 years old. At that time, the striker born in 1997 was a promising player of Man Utd.
Rashford also posted a photo of a note about his future expectations eight years ago: “I hope to have a bright future both in and out of school, especially as a player. I want a way of life. I have only one goal in life, to be a professional footballer, and hopefully to play for Man Utd.”
Eight years after identifying the target, Rashford has somewhat accomplished. “Number 19” is currently one of Man Utd’s A-team strikers. In the last match, Rashford scored to bring a 3-0 victory at Sunderland’s field.
Rashford played for Man Utd’s A team from the 2015-2016 season. Almost immediately, the teenage striker impressed and won the FA Cup with the team.
This season, Rashford has another League Cup under the guidance of coach Jose Mourinho. For a 19-year-old player, this is a favorable start in his career.
Rashford has also played for England. Right in his debut in early 2016, the teenage striker scored when he scored against Australia. Rashford was also a member of England’s squad for the Euros the same year.
