After the infamously televised defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, their private life has blown up in shards. Depp’s financial manager Joel Mandel and The Management Group serviced him for seventeen-odd years before Depp fired them. The reason behind this was, the external auditor informed Depp of the malpractices conducted by TMG. Depp filed a lawsuit against them accusing them of money mismanagement, in return he demanded $25 Million including professional fees paid to them.
TGM in return construed that the expenses were a result of Depp’s irresponsible spending and luxurious hobbies, wine being one of them. According to the countersuit,
“[Johnny Depp] often responded by rebuking and cursing his business managers for issuing [warnings and advice], while increasing his extravagant lifestyle and spending, and demanding that his business managers find some way to pay for it all.”

During the defamation trial, Amber Heard’s lawyer subpoenaed all his financial records and Heard had accused Depp of physical and s*xual assault under the influence of Alcohol and Drugs.
After Johnny Depp started filming The Rum Diaries where he met Amber Heard, his wine consumption started to increase gradually. This increase was noticed by Joel Mandel, “What I had always experienced as someone who liked to enjoy his wine at the end of his day became consumption that became excessive,” said Mandel

However, during the defamation trial, his wine consumption and subsequent bills had reduced to a considerable extent. Depp’s financial auditor Edward White was called upon to testify for him and his alcohol consumption, he took the stand and claimed “His wine bill has shrunk to virtually zero because he does not continue to consume much in the way of wine,”
