Depp filed a lawsuit against them accusing them of money mismanagement, in return he demanded $25 Million including professional fees paid to them.
TGM in return construed that the expenses were a result of Depp’s irresponsible spending and luxurious hobbies, wine being one of them. According to the countersuit,
“[Johnny Depp] often responded by rebuking and cursing his business managers for issuing [warnings and advice], while increasing his extravagant lifestyle and spending, and demanding that his business managers find some way to pay for it all.”

This increase was noticed by Joel Mandel, “What I had always experienced as someone who liked to enjoy his wine at the end of his day became consumption that became excessive,” said Mandel

Depp’s financial auditor Edward White was called upon to testify for him and his alcohol consumption, he took the stand and claimed “His wine bill has shrunk to virtually zero because he does not continue to consume much in the way of wine,”
