Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi has numerous tattoos on his body but one that catches the eye is his back tattoo of a woman. Who is the woman tattooed on the back of the FIFA World Cup 2022 winning captain?
It is none other than Messi’s own mother, Celia Maria Cuccittini. His mother’s tattoo on his back is the first tattoo he ever had. Messi was born on June 24, 1987, to his father Jorge, and mother Celia, who has largely remained out of the public eye due to a lack of records.

Celia became noticeable to the public after her son started conquering the soccer world. Her birth date still remains a mystery, however, we do know her 62nd birthday was celebrated last year on January 23. Therefore, we can conclude her birth date to be January 23, 1960. She has Italian roots.
Before becoming the mother of a world-renowned soccer star, Celia was in Argentina working at a magnet manufacturing workshop. She later moved to Spain after her Messi was scouted and brought to FC Barcelona, where he spent a large chunk of his career. Celia has now become a fashion entrepreneur and is no longer married to Leo’s father, Jorge.
