Cristiano Ronaldo uses retro iPod Shuffle ‘antique’ – fans are divided as it trending on Twitter

CRISTIANO RONALDO rocked out the iPod Shuffle before Juventus’ game against Cagliari – and football fans loved it.

The music player is 15 years old this week, and the Portuguese star decided to toast its birthday.

Despite the device ceasing production in 2017, Ronaldo is not prepared to consign it to his man drawer just yet.

The model CR7 appears to have clipped to his tie is the fifth generation design – which can be bought new on Amazon from £149.

Just days ago the 34-year-old was spotted wearing an 18-karat white gold and diamond watch worth £371,000.

But it was back to basics for the Portuguese footballer ahead of the Serie A clash.

And that has gone down a treat with people on social media, with the 2005 invention still seemingly useful today.

Melinda Salisbury wrote: “I love that @Cristiano still uses an iPod Shuffle, because I still use mine too!

“It’s light enough to clip to my bra, I can listen to hours of music without running down my phone battery, and it still works!

“Here’s to not binning things just because they’re not ‘cool’ anymore!!”

And another: “Something about Cristiano Ronaldo owning and using an iPod shuffle in the year 2020 that warms my heart.”

Others speculated that the global megastar wearing the Shuffle could see prices “go up” and that it was a “clever publicity stunt”.

But Dan Morgan believed it showed that Ronaldo is simply a “man of the people” for rocking out the music player.

The tunes he was listening too seemed to do the trick for his focus – he bagged a hat-trick as Juve put Cagliari to the sword with a 4-0 win.

He has scored 26 goals in 28 games in all competitions this season.
