Neymar recently lost a huge sum of money playing poker online as he continues to recover from a season-ending ankle injury.
Neymar has started to claw back some of the money he lost in an expensive game of poker last month by winning almost £31,000 on roulette on Monday night. The Paris Saint-Germain forward has gained a reputation as a keen gambler and is often spotted at poker events pitting himself against the very best in the world, while he also plays online when he is not physically able to make it to the table.
Neymar recently caused a stir online when he managed to lose £880,000 on poker in the space of an hour during a Twitch livestream at the end of last month. He was seen fake crying and screaming in response to his bad luck in a video clip that circulated on social media before eventually laughing it off, with the huge sum of money only equating to a week of pay for the 31-year-old.It seems as though Neymar was undeterred by losing almost £1m just days ago when he returned to the same online casino to play roulette on Monday evening, according to Mundo Deportivo. He went on to claim £30,972 after placing a multiple bet of £9,622 on three different numbers, one of which came out as a winner. There is still a long way to go for Neymar if he wants to recover all of the money that he previously lost, although there is a possibility that he could find himself in hot water with PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe if he fails to curb his gambling antics. The latter recently urged his fellow players to ensure they are maintaining a healthy way of living, such as getting plenty of sleep and eating well, and it was indicated that he was alluding to Neymar amid growing concerns over the former Barcelona man’s private life.

Neymar was later seen eating McDonald’s and playing in a poker tournament just hours after PSG were beaten by Bayern Munich in the Champions League back in February, which sparked heavy criticism from supporters and pundits alike. PSG boss Christophe Galtier refused to condemn the Brazilian winger for his actions in the aftermath of the fixture, although it remains to be seen whether Neymar will eventually get on the wrong side of him or Mbappe by failing to tone things down.”I’m not going to associate Kylian’s statement with the photo of Ney in a fast-food restaurant,” said Galtier. “I spoke with Ney, I told him what I thought.

“He has the right, on his day off, to play poker, which he loves. I told him what I thought of this photo that came out. There is no confusion to be made.”Neymar is currently sidelined with an ankle injury and will remain on the treatment table until the summer break, with a return to action likely before next season gets underway. He has scored 18 goals in all competitions for PSG over the course of the campaign while chipping in with another 17 assists, but only time will tell if he will be able to repeat those numbers at the next time of asking if a problem arises with Mbappe behind closed doors at the Parc des Princes.
