A Porsche Cayenne Pickup Truck Like This Could Challenge The Ford F-150 Raptor R

A new HotCars exclusive render shows what the Porsche Cayenne SUV could look like if it became a small off-road pickup truck.

Porsche makes some of the best sports cars on the road including the 911 and Cayman. Despite this reputation for excellent coupes, Porsche has made successful SUVs in the 21st century and they helped to save the brand from financial troubles. Some of them are also ridiculously fast and capable.

With the success of high-performance American pickups like the Ram TRX and the Ford F-150 Raptor R, it’s entirely possible that Porsche could get into the pickup market one day.

In an exclusive render, HotCars digital artist Rostislav Prokop sees what would happen if Porsche did end up turning their Cayenne SUV into a small off-road pickup truck. Read on to learn what this Porsche pickup is all about.

The Porsche Cayenne pickup has a lot of the same lines as the beloved SUV from the German manufacturer. The biggest addition aside from the new pickup bed would be the off-road bumper, winch, light bar, and a slight lift over the base model.

These additions would make the pickup trail-ready and surely could lead to some off-roading in luxury for potential owners. It would also join the ranks of the Porsche 911 Dakar as another car from the brand that is comfortable when the pavement runs out. Aside from those parts, the render takes what works from the SUV and uses it to the fullest potential, even nabbing the quad exhaust tips for a more aggressive look.

To keep up the luxury and performance side of the brand, the Cayenne pickup would need some spirited engine choices. A likely base engine is the 3.0-liter V6 that comes standard in the SUV and produces 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. However, in a world of 1,000-horsepower Tesla Model Xs, this would not help the new Porsche pickup stand out.

The higher trims of the Cayenne truck could borrow the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 from the Turbo GT version of the SUV. This would bump up the output to 631 horsepower and would be sure to surprise some sports cars at the stop light. Add in some tuning and bigger turbochargers and this Porsche pickup could easily make well over 800 hp, making it a strong competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram TRX.

Unfortunately, this pickup would not be cheap since the base Cayenne starts at $72,200. The Turbo GT trim of the car goes for $188,700. While it wouldn’t be affordable, a Cayenne pickup like this has the potential to be one of the best performance pickup trucks out there.
