Arsenal managed only a draw at West Ham, blowing a two-goal lead — just like the Gunners did against Liverpool last week.
Arteta’s side is now four points ahead of Man City, who have a game in hand and also face the Gunners at the Etihad on April 26.
So many City fans are close to celebrating winning the title — such is their belief that the Gunners will lose the title race.
Pepaguero: “Young inexperienced team. Don’t have the mentality of champions. They’re very good but missing a little killer instinct. I know they’ve eeked out some wins this season with last gasp winners, but you can only do that so much. That can’t be your bread and butter.”
Additional Bluebird9: “Dammit Arsenal have been pretty fortunate, they should’ve dropped 6 points in the last two games but hey, it is what it is and now we are closer to them.”
Fuskarn35: “Twice in a row, Arsenal score 2 goals then just do nothing, even when West Ham equalised, they had 40 minutes and did fuck all, maybe their legs are gone? Weird stuff”
Fury of Beron: “Look up the last time we lost to Arsenal in the league. Also, we beat this team twice already this season. This Arsenal team got knocked out of every other competition. Arsenal winning will be going against the trend, not the other way around.”
KDBall: “Arsenal, you’re not on our level. Arsenal, you will never be on our level. Period. Simple and plain. Accept the loss and say, you know what, Citeh, you know what, you was the better team. It’s OK to be number two. It’s OK to be right behind us. It’s OK.”
TikiTaka27: “Considering Arsenal have terrible results during the last part of the season in the past this result today isn’t surprising. Newcastle, Brighton will surely take points off Arsenal because of their surge for Europe.”
However, there was a City fan on Reddit who tried to talk sense to his fellows, insisting that the title is not won yet.
The Dank Knight: “Some of you lot are getting extra cocky for our match against Arsenal. It’s squeaky bum time and Arsenal are still a great club, even after the last two matches. It is a must-win. Anything less and we will not win the title.”
It’s funny to see City fans celebrating so early when they’re actually behind the Gunners. Now it’s up to Arteta and the lads to prove them wrong.
