DC Studios has been surprising fans with upcoming new projects since James Gunn and Peter Safran took the wheels. A new report from an insider reveals Mister Terrific, a famous character from the Arrow series, is getting its own movie or TV show.
The onslaught of new DC projects is part of Gunn’s plan to completely overhaul the previous regime and bring a brand new and more systematic approach to launching different DC franchises.

Mister Terrific Is Reportedly Joining James Gunn’s DC Universe
In an episode of The Hot Mic podcast, entertainment industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed that DC Studios is currently developing a Mister Terrific live-action:
“Someone keeps telling me that there’s a Mister Terrific project in development.”
The project has not been officially announced, but the host noted that Gunn believes the character deserves his own spotlight, saying:
“Mister Terrific may be one of these sort of side characters could merit his own movie.”
In November 2022, Gunn posted a photo of Mister Terrific on his Twitter account with no explanation at all. This led fans to speculate that something is brewing at the headquarters.
The character first appeared in DC Comics in 1942 and is one of the lesser-known characters from the franchise. Fans would recognize the character from The CW’s Arrow, which featured actor Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt.
Mister Terrific
The mantle of Mister Terrific has only two names attached to it – the original Terry Sloane, and Michael Holt. Curtis is an adaptation of the second version. Michael Holt was first introduced in Spectre Vol. 3 #54 in June 1997, and he also became a member of the Justice Society of America.
Gunn’s intriguing post ignited hope and gave fans the idea about the return of the JSA. Aldis Hodge, who played Hawkman in Warner Bros’ Black Adam, shared that Mister Terrific is part of his JSA dream team (via THR):
“Two people I definitely want to bring in [are] Mister Terrific, his backstory’s amazing, and then also Hawkgirl.”
While DC Studios is yet to launch JSA’s own movie, Hodge advised fans never to compare the team to other existing and more popular groups because it is a “refreshing new look at what a superhero team is” and that it is “a whole new experience.”
With the project reportedly in the works at DC Studios, and Hodge expressing interest in taking the character into the JSA team, there is no reason not to make this plan a reality as Holt seems to be a fan-favorite character with an interesting life story.

The amount of reports pertaining to the upcoming live-action project only fuels fans’ curiosity as to who should DC Studios cast for the role. Many names have been ringing loudly on social media, but the majority campaigns for three famous icons: Idris Elba, John Boyega, and Jonathan Majors.
It is only a matter of time before Gunn officially makes the announcement. Until then, fans would have to wait for further updates. At the time being, Mister Terrific has no release date yet.
