On July 13, employees of Khao Yai National Park, Thailand successfully discovered and rescued a baby elephant stuck in a drainage hole.
When the baby elephant fell into the hole, the mother was extremely panicked, guarding the crater, making it impossible for rescuers to approach the baby elephant. Therefore, the rescuers were forced to inject the mother with a sedative to be able to continue the rescue. However, unfortunately, the mother elephant after being injected also fell into the hole and lost consciousness. Therefore, the task of the rescue team is even more difficult.
As a result, rescuers had to use a crane to pull the mother out and quickly perform CPR on her. At the same time, they also used excavators and excavators to dig some soil around the crater so that the baby elephants could easily climb up.
The baby elephant, after escaping, immediately sought its mother’s milk, while the mother was still being carried out by staff in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Fortunately, the mother elephant finally regained consciousness. The mother and daughter returned safely to the forest under the supervision of rescuers.
Rescue work was extremely difficult due to the constant rain, making the area muddy and slippery. Chananya Kanchanasarak, veterinarian of Khao Yai National Park said: “This is one of the most memorable rescues that he and his colleagues have performed.
