The 38-year-old star had just returned from Australia to the US to complete season 3 of The Matrix when his sister Kim called. Kim is battling a deadly leukemia, so Keanu is happy to chat. But after only asking five or three questions, Kim dropped the receiver and all fell into silence. Keanu panicked and called back, but the other end of the line only had prolonged beeps.
Worried, he hurriedly grabbed his passport and unloaded luggage and rushed to the airport. At the same time, Keanu also called the police in Capri to ask them to find Kim. 15 hours later, police announced they had found Kim lying unconscious and that she was being cared for in the hospital. Keanu continued to wait for his flight to the island of Capri and the journey took him 30 hours.
