Facing a potential 3-0 deficit, it was imperative for the Golden State Warriors to win tonight’s game if they want to win the series. Fortunately for Dub Nation, that’s exactly what they did thanks to a 36-point performance from Stephen Curry.
After the victory, which came without several key players, Curry made a statement to the league and stood up for his teammate Draymond, who was controversially kept from suiting up tonight.
“It’s a lot of distraction and noise around the series. Losing both games up there was a tough way to start. We wanted to come home with some good focus and then you get that call that he’s suspended. It’s a tough blow but yesterday at practice we had really good energy understanding what the mission was and understanding that we couldn’t change anything about the decision we thought was wrong but if we could come out and win tonight, and change the momentum of the series, it gives us an opportunity to make it about basketball and that was Draymond’s message the whole time. We did what we was supposed to do… they say Draymond’s got a history, so do we.”
You have to give Steph credit for how he responded tonight. With so much pressure to avoid the dreaded 0-3 hole, it all fell on Steph to save the Warriors’ season.
Thankfully, thanks to defensive adjustments and a strong home crowd, they were able to pull it off and will give themselves a chance to tie things up in Game 4.
Should Draymond Have Been Suspended?

Dray’s suspension may have been a rallying cry for the Dubs, but did he really deserve to be kept from the game? If you look at the replay, Green’s stomp does look pretty bad but you can see Sabonis grab his leg before he comes down.
Regardless of what you think of the suspension, the Warriors didn’t let it end their season and now they can look for revenge right away.
“Initially, there was frustration internally toward Green for his behavior, sources said. But the league’s decision to suspend him for stomping on Kings center Domantas Sabonis’ chest in Game 2 has engendered a full-throated defense of Green and anger at the ruling,” reported Ramona Shelburne. “As one team source told ESPN, “We are livid. We paid the price already [when Green was ejected] in Game 2. We get that. No problem there. But this suspension was unnecessary.”
As a potential free agency this summer, this series could have some major implications for Draymond’s future as a Warrior. For now, though, all he can do is try his squeeze one last championship out of this accomplished core.
