When it comes to Hollywood power, there are few who can stand beside the incomparable Angelina Jolie. Unless, that is, you’re one of Marvel’s “Eternals.”
In the film, premiering Nov. 5, the Oscar winner is joined by a star-studded cast that includes the iconic Salma Hayek, devastatingly handsome Richard Madden, stunning Gemma Chan, newly swole Kumail Nanjiani and courageous Kit Harington, among many other stars.
And then, of course, there are Jolie’s children, who joined their mother for the movie’s red-carpet premiere wearing some of her previous memorable looks.
So often in pop culture, stars rise and fall —living for the drama, tasting the fame, then vanishing into the night, soon to be forgotten. One misstep can lead a starlet down a path of public ridicule, tearing them down from the sky as if it is a ritual sacrifice.Women in the public eye face particularly intense scrutiny — yet some learn to dance in the fire and take the reins. Angelina Jolie hasn’t just learned that game: She’s creating it every step of the way.
And women in the public eye face particularly intense scrutiny — yet some learn to dance in the fire and take the reins.
Jolie, 46, hasn’t just learned that game: She’s creating it every step of the way.
But what caused her to be this way? And what brought each “version” of her down? What lies ahead for our beloved Gemini?
The ‘real’ Angelina Jolie
Multifaceted like a diamond, she has been no stranger to exploring many interests, projects and relationships. Yet she also understands the ebbs and flows of fame and influence, knowing when to retreat into the shadows and remain under the radar. That is, until it is her time to step forward — this time with a message and a version of herself that continues to perpetuate the myth that Ms. Jolie may, in fact, be something else altogether. (Perhaps she actually is eternally otherworldly?)
Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975. Her birth chart reveals that she is a freedom-loving Gemini sun, fiery Aries moon and a maternal Cancer ascendant.
There’s a lot to unpack from that, as well as other details that can be seen from her birth chart. As much as she infamously said she didn’t originally see herself as a mother, she was literally born to be one with her Cancer ascendant and her North Node (or point of “destiny”) in her sector of fertility. Cancer energy is always very maternal, domestic and nurturing — something Jolie has further established as a part of her identity.Angelina Jolie’s birth chart reveals that she is a freedom-loving Gemini sun, fiery Aries moon and a maternal Cancer ascendant.
But, also, Jolie is just a freaking ton of fun underneath it all. Her Gemini sun is adventurous and hungry for life, while her Aries moon always makes her a feisty, excitable child at heart. Beneath the goddess image that has been so carefully crafted through her choice of roles over the years, Jolie continues to fascinate us because she is actually a perfect example of a human being who just wants to be free.
Rebirth from relationshipsAngelina Jolie and Brad Pitt — a k a “Brangelina” — officially coupled in July 2005.
When it comes to scandals in the spotlight, Jolie has learned how to navigate many controversies, severed marriages and, most recently, a nasty battle over custody and assets with her ex-husband and twin flame, Brad Pitt. She’s drawn toward fire, as both her second husband, Billy Bob Thornton, is a Leo, and her third, Pitt, is a Sagittarius. Relationships with fire signs can be extremely passionate, intense and burn hot — but once the pain becomes destructive rather than alluring, they can turn into an all-out war.
Jolie’s hunger for passion — clearly seen by the socially misunderstood “vials of blood” worn as necklaces with Thornton — fed her voracious heart. The rumored mutual seduction of Pitt and Jolie on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” — and the dissolving of Pitt’s marriage to globally beloved “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston — further drew her into a fatal attraction.Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards.
By looking at Jolie and Pitt’s natal charts, I see that they hold a very strong connection — likely karmic in nature. They were supposed to meet, drawn to be together, but ultimately meant to transform one another and teach each other about life, love and the world. These kinds of connections are often dramatically called “twin flame” relationships — but even if we want them to last forever, they very rarely do.
In both scenarios, Jolie used those relationships as a catalyst to change — not only herself on a personal level but also in the public eye. The vision she thought she shared with these men was actually her own, allowing her to further step toward her own destiny, rather than having someone else’s actions affect her path or that of her family’s.
When Saturn, the planet of life lessons, opposed her sun from 2014 until 2017, she felt the loneliness in her partnerships and was forced to learn her own resilience. Even now, Saturn in her birth chart is teaching her more about what she wants in her partnerships and her non-negotiables when it comes to marriage and union.
While the worst is definitely behind her, I do sense that she will continue to take her time until the onset of 2025 to open herself up vulnerably. But that’s OK — she’s learning life lessons about what a true union is.
And, no: Jolie is not going to be single until then. She’s Angelina Jolie.
Spoiler alert: Angelina Jolie will always be a romantic. She will also fall in love again.
With Venus prominent in her birth chart, love and romance are a way of life for her. With mighty Mars united with her moon sign in her birth chart, she will end up also diving into something when her passion ignites again, too. That impulsive energy infuses her — and will also exist in future relationships.
There’s a high likelihood that by the end of 2021, she’ll feel her heart “reawaken” as she treads further into dating and having fun again. I think she’ll be casual for a while, but by the time we get to the mid-2020s, that’s when we’ll see her next serious relationship.
Her career is on fire
Angelina Jolie’s next project, “Eternals,” is out Nov. 5.
Angelina Jolie’s career — in many ways — will be tied to more than just her heroic roles and mysterious demeanor. In the coming years, most notably beginning now and continuing until nearly 2032, she will have many planets orbiting within a part of her birth chart that reveals that she is further growing and establishing her legacy. It won’t be just about big movie roles — sure, there will be plenty of those — but it will also be about growing her power as a figure to influence change on global and societal matters.
So, yeah — that goddess image you’ve grown to know and love about her action roles is setting her up for legitimate greater levels of prominence in the entire decade to come. Had all of her trials, challenges and hardships not prepared her for this, she wouldn’t have been ready.
In a way, her life has played out exactly as it was meant to — and that’s what makes it so brilliant and exciting to watch. The “Eternals” cast, from left: Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Ma Dong-seok as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos and Barry Keoghan as Druig.
She’ll re-create herself yet again — unlike anything we’ve ever seen
But the best part of it all is that, soon, the electric planet Uranus — known for liberation, revolution and surprise — will be entering her sun sign in 2026, and that means that she will begin one of the most wildly exciting periods of her life (to last for nearly eight years to come). During that period, she will release herself from the chains of patterns, relationships and expectations that are outdated to her.
One of the best things about Angelina Jolie is that she is always changing — and by doing it in the public eye, she inspires us to be more like her; to face our past and reclaim ourselves when it has led us down a pathway that is no longer true to our hearts. And to burn down what doesn’t work for us.
