Chelsea have a bloated squad and a new manager coming in who will have to cull a vast number of these unwanted stars.
Mauricio Pochettino has quite the job on his hands figuring out who he likes and who he doesn’t like. That’s one argument for appointing him as soon as possible.
The reality is that the new coach will only have so much sway when it comes to these decisions. The ownership and sporting directors will certainly take his opinion, but they’re looking longer term.
