Danny Drinkwater is keen for Jason Statham to play him in the forthcoming Jamie Vardy film.
The Leicester midfielder thinks that the British action star is the perfect person to depict him because of his ‘worldie’ other half Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
“I hope Jamie has not got me a s*** actor — I’m sure the film will be good,” he said.
“Jason Statham is English, he’s a good actor and his missus is a worldie, so I’ll take him to play me.”
Drinkwater is a close friend of teammate Vardy, who is expected to be the focus of a brand new film about his rags-to-riches life.
Screenwriter Adrian Butchart is on board to pen the script for the film, which will chart the striker’s journey from non-league footballer to Premier League star.
The footballer’s fiancé Becky Nicholson recently told The Mirror that the couple have been ‘throwing themselves out there’ for filmmakers.
“It’s totally throwing ourselves out there and there will be no skeletons left in the closet by the end of it,” she said.
“Everything will have to be dealt with but we’re prepared for that.”
She added: “The film is probably the most surreal element of all of this. It’s incredible that somebody wants to document Jamie’s life.”
