Wright gives Madueke advice
Ian Wright has heaped tremendous praise on Noni Madueke following Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth, but insists that the youngster must improve his end product. The 21-year-old winger played a major role in the Blues’ victory at the Vitality Stadium as proved to be a constant threat down the right-wing.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Wright said: “I think today he did [make the difference]. It’s his fourth league start, Frank started him at Arsenal and said the reason why he put him in was because how hard he’s been working in training to try to get that consistency to try to get himself in the team, and he’s done it.
“He was very, very good today, gave Vina a lot of problems. This was the problem with him – the final ball. He holds it and holds it, in the end this is what he’s going to have to learn quickly to make better decisions in that instance.”
Kane to Chelsea?
Speaking on Sky Sports, Jamie Redknapp outlined Manchester United and Chelsea as two possible destinations for Harry Kane in the summer. The former Liverpool midfielder added: “It’s going to be a huge summer because if you look at two of the big clubs in the Premier League.
“Obviously we talk about about Manchester United. They struggle without a striker, they need a killer in front of goal – [Anthony] Martial just doesn’t work.
“Chelsea are crying out for someone that scores goals. If Pochettino were to go there, the first player he’s going to want is obviously someone like Harry Kane so it will be fascinating to see how it plays out. It will be very interesting.”
Raphinha stance
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Raphinha is ‘considering leaving’ Barcelona this summer due to a lack of game time with the former Leeds man also concerned about what the potential arrival of Lionel Messi could do to his place in the team.
Messi departure from Paris Saint-Germain appears inevitable this summer and a return back to Barcelona under his former team-mate Xavi looks likely. Raphinha already faces stiff competition from Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati, although he also could be set for an exit in the summer.
The report also adds that the forward has a number of ‘juicy offers from the Premier League’, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle all said to be interested in his services. It is also noted that Arsenal have been ‘insisting for many months’ with the club’s sporting director Edu making ‘constant calls’ to Raphinha’s representatives.
