Dwayne Johnson has enjoyed a highly successful WWE career. He has headlined WrestleMania and won the WWE Championship on eight occasions. He holds victories over the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and many more. However, there is one surprising name that The Rock didn’t beat in his WWE stint.
It will astonish many to know that a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion has an unblemished record against Dwayne Johnson inside the ring.
The superstar in question is ‘The Hurricane’ Shane Helms. Helms recorded one of the biggest upsets in WWE history when he beat The Rock on an episode of Monday Night RAW on March 10, 2003.
A current AEW star recently mentioned this fact on his Twitter. The Brahma Bull then replied with an interesting proposal for a match.
Dwayne Johnson wants to team up with Shane Helms
AEW star and tag team wrestling veteran Matt Hardy was all praise for Shane Helms on Twitter. He hailed him as one of the best wrestlers ever and also depicted him as a wrestling genius.
Hardy tweeted, In all seriousness, @ShaneHelmsCom is one of the best wrestlers EVAH. People who get to pick his brain & sit under his learning tree as a producer are lucky, he’s a wrestling genius.
He wrote, “YO @TQR317 no lies detected! Rock’s record is 0-1 versus The Hurricane & I absolutely loved their interactions. Dwayne Johnson has been cool as hell since Day 1 & Shane Helms is one of my best friends in the world. I love The Hurricane – It was/is brilliant!”
Not to be left behind, Dwayne Johnson chimed in with a brilliant response of his own. He called to team up with The Hurricane to face the legendary Hardy Boyz.
While we may not get to see Johnson’s proposed tag team match, it is nice to see some acknowledgment for one of the best wrestling minds in Shane Helms.
Hurricane’s win over Dwayne Johnson will go down as one of the biggest upsets in WWE history. Johnson was involved in a feud with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in 2003. During his match with the Hurricane, Austin came out and distracted ‘The Great One’, allowing Helms to pick up a famous win.
