Greg Norman’s contract with LIV Golf is coming to an end. The commissioner of the Saudi-based golf league will end his run in office before the season begins in February 2025. Norman has previously stated how despite his exit, he will still remain on the advisory panel for the league.
But that might change if fans who commented on a recent PGA Tour tweet have their way. Jay Monahan was featured in a video a couple of hours ago where he discussed the upcoming season of the PGA Tour. In the video, the commissioner of the American-based promotion talked about the development of the 2025 season and everything the fans can expect to see.
In a post shared by @NUCLRGOLF, Monahan first mentioned how the top PGA Tour players will be visiting Maui to play The Sentry 2025, an event that Viktor Hovland will play. After thanking the fans for their support throughout the 2024 season and acknowledging Scottie Scheffler for the amazing year he has had, the PGA Tour commissioner revealed the other plans in store for the upcoming year.
He addressed the new faces who will enter the PGA Tour after receiving their membership cards in the Q-School Final Stage event. Then Monahan talked about PGA Tour Studios, a SportsCenter-like show for golf that provides in-depth analysis of events and discussions between a panel of experts.
The PGA Tour commissioner also discussed Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy‘s TGL which will offer a never-before-seen experience of indoor golf for the fans. Monahan further talked about the latest initiative of the PGA Tour, the Creator Council that includes the top golf content creators like Paige Spiranac as advisors for the growth and development of the league.
After that, he made an announcement that got every fan excited, the PGA Tour has launched “a search for a CEO of the PGA Tour,” as he mentioned how him and his associates were looking for new perspectives to help grow the sport. The caption to the tweet read, “🚨🔎⛳️ JUST IN: In year end message, PGA TOUR commissioner Jay Monahan announces that a search is underway to find a CEO for the TOUR. He adds that “everything is on the table” for the future of the league.”

This is what caught everyone’s attention as the fans started promoting an unlikely candidate for the job. Can you guess who it was?
Can Greg Norman become the CEO of the PGA Tour?
At least fans believe that he would be a great candidate to consider for Jay Monahan & co., despite their ongoing rivalry. @Niilojohannes stated “I’ve heard Greg Norman is looking for new opportunities,” talking about Norman being out of a job after February 2025. @jasonegray also said, “*Greg Norman enters the chat*” suggesting that the current LIV Golf commissioner would be interested in the position. “There’s only one man who can rescue the PGA Tour from this Monahan Mess,” said @sekrah as they indicated that Greg Norman can resolve all the problems Jay Monahan has created.
@BlairjWheeler suggested that the PIF-PGA Tour merger will go through if Norman is the CEO as they said “It should be Greg Norman to unite the game.” @theaussiegolfer also insisted that “Greg Norman is available” hinting that the current LIV Golf commissioner will be a great CEO for the PGA Tour.
Do you hold the same opinion that Greg Norman should take up the position of the CEO of the PGA Tour once his LIV Golf contract is done? Share your views in the comments section.
