Selena Gomez isn’t ruling out a possible reunion with Justin Bieber.
In a recent interview with ELLE magazine, the “Good for You” singer didn’t totally deny the possibility of one day getting back together with her longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend.
“I don’t know,” she told the magazine when asked if the former lovebirds would ever get back together.
The 23-year-old Gomez, who graces the cover of ELLE’s upcoming October issue, said she considers Bieber a “genuinely” good friend, even after their tumultuous relationship seemed to end for good last year.
“I’ll forever support him and love him in a way,” Gomez said. “We grew up together.”
“I respect him,” she added. “And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner.”
That said, Gomez says she currently has no plans of getting back together with the “Where Are U Now?” singer, or with anyone else for that matter, any time soon.
The singer has instead been busy focusing on herself the past few months, especially with her second solo studio album “Revival” set to be released on Oct. 9.
“Finding somebody is not my main focus,” Gomez said. “I’ve dated people. I’ve been on a few dates, which is really exciting. But I’ve never wanted to get into anything serious, because I kind of did that. I have my guard up.”
Gomez certainly covers topic of love in her new album, however, as her already released singles “Good For You” and “Same Old Love” each revolve around relationships.
“Same Old Love,” in particular, had many fans thinking that she was sending a message to Bieber, although the brunette crooner swears she is not.
“(It’s) not necessarily about a specific relationship,” Gomez said. “Sometimes you’re stuck in the same cycle. This is kind of my ‘forget it’ song. I’m sick of all of it.”
Gomez’s new album, which can be pre-ordered on iTunes now, comes complete with 11 new songs, while the deluxe edition features three additional tracks. For those who want even more Gomez, the Target deluxe edition includes an extra two songs on top of that.
The October issue of ELLE magazine hits shelves on Sept. 22.
