Chris Hemsworth will announce the Academy Award nominations on Thursday, Jan. 16.
He will be joined by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs to unveil the nominees beginning 5:38 a.m. PT/8:38 a.m. ET at a live news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Hemsworth made his feature film debut in 2009’s Star Trek, but broke through as Thor in the 2011 film. He reprised his role in Marvel’s The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World. Hemsworth has also starred in Snow White and the Huntsman and Rush, and will next appear in Cyber and In the Heart of the Sea, out in 2015.
