Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull took time out to attend and enjoy the AFL grand final, even meeting actor Chris Hemsworth.
Mr Turnbull was not seen at his seat during the second quarter of the game, but was instead seen chatting with the Thor actor Chris Hemsworth over lunch according to the Herald Sun.
The PM’s Facebook photo caption read: ‘Good to meet Chris Hemsworth today’.
He and the actor discussed the contribution of the creative sector to the economy. Never without his wits the he added, ‘but a bit weird he insisted on me calling him Thor.’
However on the Facebook photo’s edited history revealed a mix up. The original post said ‘Good to meet Liam Hemsworth today’, but was changed to the correct Hemsworth brother, Chris.
The PM declared his support for the West Coast Eagles on his Facebook account saying: ‘In the AFL, I’ll be stressing the importance of Cabinet solidarity with Julie Bishop by tipping the West Coast Eagles by 8.’
In an earlier Facebook statement, Mr Turnbull condemned the terrorist attack at the Parramatta Police Headquarters in Western Sydney and expressed condolences to the family of the ‘callously murdered’ victim Curtis Cheng.
