Good progress: Gabriel Jesus injury update

Gabriel Jesus is making good progress in his recovery from injury, after ridding himself of the crutches he was using to get around.

The Evening Standard report that Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has made a strong start to his recovery from knee surgery, and he’s making good progress so far.

The Standard write that Jesus is continuing his rehab and he’s expected to be out for three months, which would suggest he has two months remaining to return to action.

But Arsenal are reportedly reluctant to put an exact timeframe on the Brazilian international’s recovery.

There was some good news on Jesus’ social media pages on Monday, as he hinted on his Instagram story that he’s moving on from the use of crutches.

Jesus has since posted another video of his rehab sessions, where he even seems to be moving without a knee brace for certain exercises.

There’s no chance Jesus will be available in January, with Arsenal set to face Oxford United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, as well as playing a potential FA Cup fourth-round tie.

It also seems unlikely the striker will feature in February, with games against Everton, Brentford, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Leicester City.

But perhaps the game against Bournemouth at home at the start of March is a realistic target, before the Europa League returns the following week.
