Dwayne Johnson’s foray into the superhero world did not quite go as planned. He had to endure major struggles to finally bring the Black Adam character to life last year. The actor fought tooth and nail to bring his dream project to the floors.
However, he confirmed in a social media post that a sequel to the movie was not on the studio’s agenda. Now an actor who plays the titular character in one of DCEU’s plethora of projects has recently taken a dig at Johnson.
Last year was quite an exciting year for his fans as everyone wanted to see their favorite superstar as Black Adam. But the movie fell well below everyone’s expectations.
The People’s Champ Left no stone unturned when it came to promoting the project. Zachary Levi, who plays Black Adam’s arch nemesis Shazam on the big screen, took a shot at his former counterpart.
Levi takes a potshot at Dwayne Johnson
An Instagram story from the actor was definitely a shot at Johnson. The story referred to a study and read, “STUDY FINDS THAT DRINKING ENERGY DRINKS CAUSES HAIRFALL IN MEN“. The intended target would not have been quite evident, but Levi added a small image of Johnson to put across his point.
The Shazam actor has previously also posted on The People’s Champ “I would get to punch The Rock in the face, people“! The Great One’s constantly promoting Zoa Energy Drink adds to the connection of the social media story.
It is also common knowledge that Johnson rejected cameos in Shazam and Flash. This could be Levy’s way of reminding him what could have been. The speculation is high that The Brahma Bull may return to the squared circle at WrestleMania 39 to face nephew Roman Reigns.
We will have to wait and see what transpires in the same. However, he could only be one of the major names expected to compete with John Cena also earmarked this time around.
Johnson has other things going for him
The Great One wouldn’t be too perturbed either, as he has big money deals with streaming services under his belt. He is set to appear alongside popular actor Chris Evans in The Red One this year. Maybe he graces his fans with a brief return to wrestling, maybe Stone Cold does the same.
The shelving of his brainchild would no doubt have hurt Johnson. But his busy schedule means he does not have much time to reflect on what happened. While Zachary Levi’s Instagram story is a dig at him on not one but two levels, but hopefully, Johnson will surely bounce back as he has always done.
