Arsenal’s interest in Declan Rice is completely true and has been ‘bubbling away’ for quite some time now.
That’s according to The Guardian who claim that the 24-year-old Hammers midfielder has been made well aware how he would fit into Mikel Arteta’s plans at Arsenal.
Rice is effectively out of contract with West Ham in the summer of 2025, due to the club having the option to extend his current deal by a further 12 months.
Rice has made it very clear that he wants to play Champions League football, and that means that a move to join Arsenal is surely more likely for the 24-year-old than a return to Chelsea.
In addition to that, Rice is said to be a huge admirer of the current project being overseen by Mikel Arteta at the Emirates.
It seems as though the Gunners’ interest in Rice is very real indeed…
Arsenal’s interest in Declan Rice ‘completely true’
I feel as though we’ve all come to terms now with the fact that Dec will be leaving West Ham in the summer. Unfortunately for us, David Moyes has been unable to take us to the next level, and as a result, Rice will be on his way.
I always thought that his next destination would be Chelsea, Manchester United or perhaps Manchester City.
It seems as though Arsenal could win the race for his signature though.
That’s according to The Guardian who claim that Mikel Arteta has made it very clear to the Hammers star where he’d fit in at the Emirates.
In addition to that, Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg suggests that a move to the Gunners in the summer is the ‘more likely move’ for the West Ham skipper:
Arsenal’s interest in Declan Rice is completely true. Been bubbling away over the last few weeks and it’s seen as a more likely move for the West Ham captain than Chelsea. Arsenal def have the money, especially with Cl qualification looking a formality #afc #whufc

I have a strong feeling that Arsenal could be the club Rice joins in the summer transfer window.
The Times reckon that £80 million could be enough or the Gunners to prise the 24-year-old away from the London Stadium and bring him to the Emirates in the summer.
That’s frustrating for us, because I feel as though we could have got 50% more than that, had we sold Dec in the summer of 2022. It is what it is though.
We all know that the England international will leave West Ham at some point, and that time will definitely come sooner rather than later.
With Arsenal’s interest in signing Declan Rice apparently very real, it would not surprise me one little bit to see him move to north London at the end of the season.
