Marvel Studios’ upcoming Daredevil: Born Again has added to its cast with a new cast member ahead of its extended shooting schedule.
Marvel made legions of fans beyond thrilled when it announced that both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio would be returning to their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin for an 18-episode show on Disney+.
Additionally, Michael Gandolfini was then cast in an unknown role. Many theorize that he could be playing Richard Fisk, Kingpin’s son in the comics.
Joining him were also Sandrine Holt and Margarita Levieva. Information on their roles was unknown, but the common belief seemed to be that both could be love interests to the series’ leading characters.
Now, another star has joined the highly anticipated series.
Disney+’s Daredevil Adds Another Actor
Nikki M. James
In a new report, Deadline shared that Nikki M. James has been cast in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.
Details on her role in the show are being kept under wraps.
James is known for her previous work on The Good Fight, Proven Innocent, and Apple TV’s Severance and also won a Tony Award in 2011 for “Best Featured Actress in a Musical” for her role in Broadway’s The Book of Mormon.
Alongside the leading stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, she joins other previously reported actors Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini, and Margarita Levieva.
Who Else Might Join Daredevil’s Next Adventure?
Six cast members down, and plenty more to go.
Regarding Nikki M. James’ role in the show, with no further information, it’s next to impossible to provide a quality, educated guess as to who she is playing. However, one guess is that she’ll be an ally to Matt Murdock and Daredevil in the legal system.
Another possibility could be connected to the rumored inclusion of Ava Ayala, the mystical superhero known as White Tiger. Perhaps James is the young hero’s mother?
But who else will be boarding the project? There are certainly plenty of characters from the Netflix series that are still a big question mark, such as Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson, and Elodie Yung’s Elektra Natchios.
Then there are the big guns, such as Daredevil’s heavily rumored superhero allies in Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.
With the project set to start shooting this February and going all the way through to December, fans should start hearing more about the series over the coming weeks.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit Disney+ sometime in Spring 2024
