Following an incident at the Mission Impossible premiere, Bugatti decided to turn their back on Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise just does things differently. He refuses to use CGI for stunts and as for his film scenes, he doesn’t shy away from going all out, that included spending over $11,000 for a jet in Top Gun: Maverick for a brief shoot.

He dropped some serious coin on a Bugatti as well during the early 2000s, however, the result with the supercar was not a good one. Bugatti put him on the banned list and the reason for it was quite the silly one… Let’s find out.

Bugatti And Other Supercar Brands Haven’t Hesitated To Ban Celebs

Don’t feel too bad Tom, he’s far from the only one, especially in the Hollywood realm… Supercar companies haven’t shied away from throwing out bans if they were not pleased with the treatment of their vehicles. That held true for the likes of Kim Kardashian, who was banned from buying certain special edition Ferrari rides, given the way she did not treat her past supercars with care…

Justin Bieber was also on Ferrari’s no list, after it was reported that he left his car on the street for three weeks after a night of partying. Boss Hunting reported, “He reportedly lost his car in the parking lot of Beverly Hill’s Montage Hotel after a wild night out. He retrieved the car three weeks later. He’d only had it for a few months before the incident. Then at one point, Bieber “hit up California’s West Coast Customs to retrofit a Liberty Walk body kit, as well as to cover the original white paint job with some electric blue.”

Bugatti has a few banned names themselves, which includes Floyd Mayweather, Simon Cowell, Jenson Button and perhaps the most surprising of the list, Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise purchased the expensive ride in 2005, reportedly spending over $1 million on the Bugatti. Now imagine getting the cold shoulder from the company for not being able to open a door… The moment was viewed by millions at the Mission Impossible premiere and although fans laughed off the moment, Bugatti didn’t.

Marca discussed the ban, “The reason for Bugatti’s decision dates back to 2006, at a massive event where Mission Impossible 3 was premiering and Cruise arrived with a spectacular entrance.”

“After several attempts, Cruise finally managed to open the door of the Bugatti Veyron, before the eyes of thousands of people present, including international press, as well as the millions of viewers who took the moment with humor, although that was not how the car brand saw it.”

The decision was not a popular one and that was evident in the comments section of the video, as fans bashed Bugatti for making this type of decision, despite the money dropped by Cruise on the vehicle.

Nonetheless, it did not deter the actor’s love for cars, as he moved on to BMW. However, even with the BMW, his bad luck would continue…

Tom Cruise Doesn’t Have The Best Luck With Cars

Once again, this moment took place during a Mission Impossible project, this one, the seventh film. Oddly enough, Tom Cruise’s BMW was stolen during the shoot in front of the Grand Hotel.

According to Movie Web, not only was the car in mint condition but it also contained lots of expensive good on the inside.

“What we do know is that the vehicle was taken from outside the Grand Hotel. The BMW reportedly had thousands of pounds (currency and not weight) worth of goods inside it. Authorities are examining CCTV footage in the area to see if they can see the who’s, how’s, and what’s of the incident.”

Given the success of Top Gun: Maverick, matched with his success given a net worth of $600 million, Tom Cruise can surely buy another ride without hesitation. In truth, maybe he should just stick to helicopters…
