The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Boston Celtics on Saturday to begin their yearly Grammy road trip, and the game was not without controversy. LeBron James drove to the rim with just a few seconds remaining in the game with the score tied at 105 in hopes of giving the Lakers a chance to win. Jayson Tatum struck him on the arm, but no foul was signaled, forcing overtime, where the Lakers would eventually lose. James reacted angrily to the no-call on the court, and Patrick Beverley, another teammate, received a technical foul for taking a camera from one of the photographers and showing the referees video of the missed call. “With all due respect, he should have though. He should have done more,” Beverley said. “That hurts, that was the vibe in the locker room like damn that game hurt. We won that game, like we won. We got the best player on the planet at the free-throw line with 0.7 seconds left shooting two free-throws.”
On the season, LeBron James is averaging 30.2 points per game, 8.5 rebounds and 7.1 assists while shooting 50.7 percent from the field and 31.2 percent from the three-point line. James is averaging 6.2 attempts from the free-throw line which has been in line with his career averages for the past couple of seasons.
