Caroline’s Cabin on the Creek offers an abundance of western atmosphere in a historic one-bedroom Fredericksburg 150-year-old log cabin that offers a beautiful lawn and garden, views of Town Creek from the front porch, and unbeatable access to restaurants, shops, wineries, and tasting rooms. The cabin is beautifully situated on a spacious garden property in the heart of the Fredericksburg National Historic District, this pioneer log cabin is just one block from Main Street and Marktplatz, the frequent site of festivals and the seasonal farmers market. You’ll find a variety of tasting rooms within blocks, as well as dozens of renowned Gillespie County wineries within a short drive. This single-level log home provides both serenity and convenience, making it an ideal destination for cozy romantic getaways and weekend explorations of the Texas Hill Country.

The interior living space is full of rustic charm, thanks to original log walls, a wood-burning fireplace, and classic leather and wood furnishings. Yet this log home is also quite modern in several ways, as it offers WiFi and central heating, and air conditioning to keep guests comfortable at all times. After a day spent hiking, rock climbing, or birding in the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area just 17 miles north, you can return home to relax on the leather sofa and watch your favorite film on cable TV and DVD player. Thanks to the leisurely lunches at one of the cafes nearby and the delectable dinners you are sure to enjoy at Vaudeville just five blocks away, guests at Caroline’s Cabin on the Creek will have few incentives to cook. But if you do, the kitchenette offers a microwave, a coffee maker, and a small refrigerator for storing your produce from the nearby farmers market.

Guests of the cabin need only to step outside to enjoy one of the loveliest settings in all of Fredericksburg. Read a novel on the front porch as you relax in a rocking chair, set up a picnic on the shaded grassy lawn, or open a bottle of Texas wine to enjoy a view of Town Creek. With one bedroom and one full bathroom, this snug little log cabin can accommodate as many as two guests. The bedroom features hardwood floors and a grand queen-sized bed, while the adjoining bathroom offers a stall shower. As one of the most exciting wine destinations in all of Texas, Fredericksburg boasts a variety of tasting rooms both in town and within an easy drive. Stroll a few blocks down Main Street to discover the ever-popular Grape Creek Vineyards tasting room, or hop in the car and drive 11 miles east to reach the vineyard itself. You’ll also be within walking distance of wonderful live music, restaurants, and more than 80 sites of historic interest in Fredericksburg alone.

It’s never a bad time to explore the Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg, Texas has plenty to do. It is a mix of modern and historic, and it is a place with a fine balance between true Texan hospitality and German traditions. During your vacation stay, you can stroll along the historic Main Street to enjoy the beautiful 19th-century architectural design, relax on the lively Marktplatz, or visit the Vereins Kirche Museum.
