The Portuguese star’s new club celebrated his birthday with a training session and cake
Cristiano Ronaldo turned 38 on Sunday and, as well as holding an intimate celebration with his family and friends, the Portuguese forward was in for a surprise from his new teammates.
When he arrived at training, the cameras gave away their intentions and Ronaldo could already sense the direction in which the plan was heading.
On the pitch, the entire Al-Nassr squad was waiting for him, arranged around a table on which the former Manchester United forward’s birthday cake was placed. The cake featured a picture of Ronaldo along with the word ‘congratulations!’
It showed the ease with which the veteran has settled into life at his new club, although it did take him more than three games to score his first competitive Al-Nassr goal.
With that being said, the club remain delighted by his presence and that was clear by the fact his teammates were so quick to celebrate his birthday.
Despite Rudi Garcia‘s comments that Ronaldo would finish his career in Europe, for now there remains genuine excitement that a player of such reputable standing is choosing to play his domestic football in Saudi Arabia.
Christian Atsu found alive in the Turkey earthquake rubble according to ‘A Bola’
The former Chelsea player, now with Hatayspor, was reportedly injured after being found in the rubble of his apartment building
Christian Atsu, a former Malaga, Porto, Chelsea and Newcastle player was found alive in the rubble of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria that has caused more than 2,500 deaths, according to ‘A Bola’.
The Portuguese media claims that the Hatayspor player, who disappeared in the ruins of the earthquake in the city of Hatay, is in hospital with an injured right foot and breathing difficulties.
Search and rescue teams searched for Atsu after the 7.5-magnitude quake struck southern Turkey and Syria. Team-mates Onur Ergun and Burak Oksuz were also found, with Kerim Alici climbing out of the rubble on his own feet, according to A Bola.
However, Hatayspor‘s sporting director Taner Savut has not yet been located after also being reported missing
